Agenda items #4 – 8 are PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS
8. Legislative File No. 44743 – PUBLIC HEARING – Creating Section 15.01(601) of the Madison General Ordinances entitled “City Boundaries” and being part of the chapter entitled ”Aldermanic Districts and Wards” attaching to the 14th Aldermanic District the Carey and Slinde Enterprises, LLC (aka Badger Bowl) Attachment; creating Section 15.02(139) of the Madison General Ordinances to assign the attached property to Ward 139; amending Section 15.03(14) to add Ward 139 to Aldermanic District 14; and creating Section 28.022 – 00256 to zone the property CC (Commercial Center) District. (Per the City Attorney, this is a simple majority (11 vote) item, not a 2/3 vote as noted in the agenda.)

Legislative File No. 40307 – SUBSTITUTE – To include new street construction that recognizes the importance of street trees and tree canopy and prioritizes projects delineating the terms for community involvement in decision-making in street reconstruction projects in the City’s “Complete Streets” program as adopted by the Common Council on 12/15/09 (Resolution RES-09-00997, Legislative File No. 16250). (Business of the Council President – Ald. David Ahrens, District 15 – Additional Referral: Disability Rights Commission.)

15. Legislative File No. 44847 – Authorizing the Mayor, City Clerk and Chief of Police to sign a contract with Dane County and the University of Wisconsin, extending for ten (10) years the agreement which authorizes the Dane County Narcotics Task Force. (Report of BOE – Ald. Marsha Rummel, District 6 – Additional Referral: Public Safety Review Committee.)

22. Legislative File No. 44914 – SUBSTITUTE Amending Sections 3.50(1)(a), (c) and (d) of the Madison General Ordinances to increase the alderpersons’ salaries effective April, 2017. (Report of BOE – Council President Mike Verveer, District 4 – Recommended Action: Place on file.)

43. Legislative File No. 43566 – Approving the 2017 Operating Plan for Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (#1). (Report of Downtown Coordinating Committee – The Downtown Coordinating Committee recommended adoption at their November 11, 2016, meeting.)
