This is What Democracy Cooks Like

They’re here! You’ve heard the announcements on WORT, and now the cookbooks are available.

The WORT cookbook: “This is What Democracy Cooks Like” is now available. It’s hot-off-the-press and selling like hotcakes! This 350 page book includes more than 250 recipes and chronicles through photos and stories, Wisconsin’s historic 2011 pro-democracy uprising. Just in time for your holiday-of-choice gift giving, the book is available for $25 at the station, 118 S. Bedford Street weekdays from 9am-6pm. Or check out the link from WORT’s home page: wortfm.org where you can order on-line using PayPal or print out a mail-in order form. (You can pay an extra $5 to have the book shipped, or you can pick it up at the station.)

The book is also available at these local businesses, though it might be good to phone ahead to make sure that they have the copies you need since they are going fast!

This Saturday, December 10th books will be available at the following events:
“Time to Build a Better Bank” a Rock and Roll fundraiser for the Dane County Timebank, 3-6pm at the High Noon Saloon, 701 E. Washington Ave. This 21 and up show features Art Paul Schlosser, Ladyscissors, a silent auction, a Madison Hours and Timebank trade fair and Karaoke. A sliding scale donation at the door is requested.

Socialist Potluck, 5:30pm at the Wil-Mar Center, 953 Jenifer St- Bring a dish to pass. This month’s topic: “What Can Replace the Rule of the 1%: A Democratic Form of Market Socialism

On Tuesday, December 13th books will be available at the indoor farmers market at Wil-Mar Center, 953 Jenifer St. from 4-7pm.
