Please join me, city staff and District 12 Alder Larry Palm for a listening session for Northside residents and others interested in voicing their thoughts and opinions on the future of the Oscar Mayer site. The listening session is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, 6:30pm at the Warner Park Recreation Center.
The 50-acre site is currently listed for sale by Kraft Heinz and the plant will remain open for the next 8-20 months.
“The City may not be able to control what happens, but it is important for any prospective buyers to hear from the community.” said Ald. Palm in a press release about the event earlier this week. “We will use community feedback to work with prospective buyers and work towards making what happens here a positive contribution to the Northside and all of Madison.”
Representatives from the Economic Development Division and the Mayor’s Office will be on hand to answer questions and listen to your ideas and concerns.
