Madison School Board Pre-Primary Campaign Finance Reports (Updated)

Well – they are finally on-line from the clerks office. Got an email from the clerks office at 2:00 today saying “Yup, some were sent in electronically. Please check the sites for some updates.” Some? I have no idea if the missing reports are due to lack of filing or still waiting for more updates?

The most notable thing here, besides how hard it was to get my hands on the reports, is that compare how much money is in the school board races compared to the mayor’s races. The mayor’s races are brining in 5 – 10 times as much money to run in a slightly smaller area. Kaleem is the big fundraiser at $18,000 and Ali and Ananda come in next each around $10,000. Total.

Here’s my previous report from the first reporting period (July 1 – Dec. 31)
This reporting period is Jan 1 – Feb 4. Only candidates with primaries needed to turn in a report – but that is all school board candidates.

Kaleem Caire

Well, crap . . . here’s his report – good luck reading it! I was hoping it was on line with the others.
Previous Balance = $0
He raised = $18,048
Spent = $1,287
Balance = $16,760

He had a little over 100 donors.

His large donors were
$4,500 Pleasant Rowland (American Doll/Jerome Frautchi/Pleasant Rowland Foundation)
$1500 Jan Futwiler (Futwiler Development)
$1,000 Kevin Conroy (Exact Sciences)
$1000 Zack Neumeyer – Sage Hospitality
$500 Joe Krupp (developer)
$500 Ana Hooker (Exact Sciences)
$500 Tim and Diane Hansen (SVA Consulting and United Madison)

What’s concerning to me is that he got conduit money, but I don’t see where that is reported on his reports. When I saw it, I was looking at the mayor’s race and I didn’t make a note of it because I assumed it would be on his reports. This report from the Chamber of Commerce indicates $200, but we don’t know who it was from by looking at either report, but we might be able to make some educated guesses.

Cristiana Carusi

Alright, well . . . when I click on Cris Carusi’s campaign finance report, I get Kaleem Caire’s campaign finance report?

Grrr. At least its more readable than my photo, if you blow it up on your screen.

Sylar Croy

Nothing available.

So, voters. Not very helpful. Not sure we’ll get anything better in the hours before the election.
