We seem to have consultants and experts and lots of activities, and surprisingly low “costs incurred to date”. Somehow, I think she probably asked the wrong question. Here’s the answer as to how much of the “costs incurred”.

Subject: FW: Central Library Costs Incurred To DateAlder Pham-Remmele,
At Tuesday night’s Council meeting you asked about expenditures to date on the Central Library project. My guess at the time was that we had spent something under $100,000. Here’s what I found out:
The 2009 Capital budget authorized $1,700,000 for planning and design associated with the project. Of that authorization, $100,000 was borrowed as part of the fall 2009 capital borrowing. So far, $53,037 has been spent and an additional $2,789 is encumbered, for a total commitment of $55,826.
I hope this answers your question.
Sincerely,
Dean Brasser
And, if you’re interested in the library, don’t forget about the series of meetings coming up.
