Lake View Hill Park Nurses’ Dorm Public Information Meeting

A public information meeting to discuss the new draft concept designs and stormwater management plan for the former Nurses’ Dorm at Lake View Hill County Park will be held on Monday, August 4th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Dane County Department of Human Services office building, located at 1202 Northport Drive, Madison, WI 53704 and in room 110. The meeting will be facilitated by the project consultants – Dorschner Associates, SCS Engineers, and Urban Assets – as well as Dane County staff.

In 2013, a concept developed for the Human Services building known as the “Nurses’ Dorm” was not accepted by the City of Madison Plan Commission. Dane County has contracted again with the team of consultants to create new concept plans for the demolition of the building. The new plans propose that portions of the building be preserved and developed into a historical interpretive area to be incorporated into Lake View Hill County Park. A stormwater management plan, in conjunction with a landscape plan, and has been developed to collect runoff that is currently impacting the site.

The purpose of the public information meeting is to solicit feedback on the new design concepts, stormwater management plan, and landscape plan.

For further information about the meeting, please contact Sara Kwitek (Dane County Acquisition and Planning Specialist) at Kwitek@countyofdane.com or (608) 224-3611.
