I’m working on a history of demolitions, looking for trends, but for now, here are all the (31) demolition proposalss since my last update . . . in September.

Please be advised that Gary Karls will be filing a demolition permit application on March 6, 2013 for Plan Commission review that calls for a Single family Home located at 1001 Woodward Dr Madison, WI 53704 to be demolished. The new home and garage structure will be similar in size and detail with other new structures constructed in the area. All existing elevations and lot grades will remain as with the current structure.

Demolition and construction will start as soon as final approval is granted.

This is an architecturally bland two story home with all of the usual problems associated with homes built in the 1940’s including poor insulation, sub-standard mechanicals, single pane windows, asbestos, etc… The owners currentlly live in the premises and have owned the property for over 25 years. They want to build a new home to live out their lives in.

Ryan Brother’s Ambulance would like to demolish the vacant, dilpidated building that is behind their current station on Park St. Their station would stay as is, but the new building would house administrative staff and a training center currently located in the Park St. Building’s basement.

The building that we are requesting to be demolished is accessible off an alley on Haywood Dr and faces Park St.

The proposed new building would enhance the neighborhood appreance.

Axley Brynelson, LLP represents the owner of the subject property, Stasia Hargis. The subject property was severely damaged in a fire on June 16, 2012. Ms. Hargis intends to re-build her residence, but is still awaiting the insurance proceeds and financing following the fire. In the interim, she intends to proceed with the appropriate demolition of the property.
