It’s budget season! A couple meeting where departments start presenting their budgets. County Board meets on Thursday.

-Chair McCarville has asked the department heads and constitutional officers to brief the committee on their budget requests with emphasis on any challenges they see with the proposed 2020 budget as introduced. Public comment, if any, will be held after the presentations and questions by committee members.
-On October 16, 2019, the committee will host a formal Public Hearing for comment for anyone interested in any and all issues before the Public Protection and Judiciary Committee. The committee will also begin discussions on potential budget amendments before the public hearing.
-Budget amendments will be posted on the agenda for October 16, 2019, October 21, 2019 and October 22, 2019. Per Chair Corrigan’s memo, all budget amendments should go to Controller, Chuck Hicklin, by 10 a.m. the day before the meeting.
-Supervisors should work with Chair McCarville, Controller Chuck Hicklin and/or County Board Office Staff to be sure all amendments are included on the agenda.
-Public speakers are limited to 3 minutes and should fill out a hearing slip so we can call on you in an orderly manner.
