Yikes! Check out Who’s Buying the Mayor’s Race!

Or buying the next mayor? It ain’t Madison! With record numbers of money raised for the mayor’s race, I was curious where the money was coming from . . . there’s a ton of money coming in from outside of Madison and outside of the state!

I quickly ran some numbers and came up with what you see below – there is more to report on, but here’s the first part. $4,664 is the maximum an individual can donate for mayor. Also, please note that the business community seems to be backing Mo, while the developers/landlords seem to like Soglin – tho there is not 100% agreement on that, developers/realtors/landlords like Mo too. Only Mo and Soglin reported conduit money (money given by individuals but bundled by groups to increase their influence).
