Say what you will about the drunk history show . . . this clearly is not very becoming of our council president.
Add to that the coziness this reveals with one of the main developer lobbyists (Carole Schaefer) in the city and a city staff person from the clerks office and it gets even more uncomfortable . . .
And its not even funny. Serious. Lack. of. Judgement. So now you know what council leadership and lobbyists do . . . sigh. . . .
Well, I went to President of the Council Chris Schmidtt’s facebook page because I didn’t understand what the video was about; apparently some contest. And what I discovered were a bunch of selfies. Recently scientists have linked narcissism, addiction and mental health conditions that focus on a person’s looks. Maybe because he lost weight he is struggling with his self. Alder Rummel never seems to take selfies, she barely writes on her facebook; she lists ideas and lets people discuss.

So, the danger in this struggle with self is that the self wants to be important and noticed. So when that happens to a public figure lobbyists have a field day and constituents become secondary to the person’s need for recognition and self importance.
