WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?

This is NOT an April Fools joke. It’s a little more like an Easter Egg Hunt.

Yesterday at 2:03 there was an emails sent out that said:

ADDITIONS TO WEEKLY MEETING SCHEDULE

Meeting: FOOD WASTE REDUCTION TASK FORCE
Date: 4/1/2015 4:30 PM
Location: 201W. MIFFLIN ST., MADISON CENTRAL LIBRARY, MADISON FOUNDATION COMMUNITY ROOM 302

Meeting: PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT WORKGROUP
Date: 4/1/2015 4:30 PM
Location: 201 W. MIFFLIN ST., MADISON CENTRAL LIBRARY ROOM 201

26.5 hours notice before the meeting, how curious. Yes, it meets the letter of the law, but given the topic, this is just too ironic.

When I went to blog the added meetings this week, I found this:
mfpc

Curious, what kind of public participation is it if you don’t tell people what you are talking about.

So, I asked to have the agenda sent to me by the clerks office, jsut 6 hours before the meeting is going to start. They emailed it to me, the agenda items are:

1. How we can help the MFPC learn about and connect with the concerns of the full diversity of Madison
2. Pathways for public participation in the workings of the MFPC and its working groups
3. Development of work plan, meeting schedule

I still had no clue what the meeting was about by reading that. And my facebook friends didn’t either. An alder of course figured it out, but even so, this is beyond absurd.

clues

Sigh . . . wasn’t this one of the top issues in the equity report, access to government. How’s that going?

p.s. 4.5 hours before the meeting, still no agenda on line . . . . how would anyone from the public know if they wanted to go to the meeting? And the irony of the topic of the meeting is mind blowing.
