What Happened to Brenda’s Blogging?

Seems a little sparse lately. Why?

Someone asked me again yesterday, what is going on. Well, its a little hard to explain.

Am I quitting blogging? No. Just busy with other things.

What have I been up to? Designing a homeless day shelter, writing a homeless survivors guide, researching other homelessness issues, looking for sites for services and personally helping some homeless friends with all kinds of things and its been challenging.

Why don’t you write about your work with your friends? Wouldn’t that help? Well, no. I don’t want to be accused of using people who trust me. And there are confidentiality issues that are hard to address comfortably, even when they are ok with me saying things, I’m not. And they have become my friends and it just doesn’t seem appropriate.

Why don’t you write about your homeless day shelter? Well, the plans are still coming together. Working on it.

When can we expect you to get back to blogging more regularly? Hopefully soon. Work is a little crazy too, trying to take “use or lose” vacation and its hard to get everything done and actually pretty stressful. But, hopefully I will return to regular blogging soon. I’m trying, its just that things just keep coming up.

Are you bored with the City Council? Truthfully, a little. But I think its my own lack of focus, not theirs.

Did I just have a conversation with myself? Yes. Scarey, eh?

  1. Its perfectly fine to talk to yourself, especially because you tend to get the right answers. And taking a break is a good thing…enjoy your downblogtime and have more fun! Thanks for your efforts at helping the so many who need it.

  2. It sounds like you are reinventing yourself. And frankly, you are kind, the city council meetings are boring, same old monologues from the same self promoting people.

  3. Everything changes. (I just hate that!) All of our best leaders find new and pressing issues to work on. If we want an informative blog on city/county issues, we perhaps should start contributing to it ourselves.
