Tonight: Telephone Town Hall

MMSD to Host ‘Telephone Town Hall’ Meeting on Referendum

This Wednesday, March 18, at 7:00 p.m., tens of thousands of Madison-area residents will receive a phone call from Metropolitan School District inviting them to join their first-ever live telephone town hall meeting.

The topic: The referendum on the April 7, 2015, ballot, which if passed, would fund improvements to 16 Madison school buildings, including the following:

greater accessibility so students, families and community members with mobility challenges can access second and third floors
additions to alleviate our most overcrowded schools and accommodate enrollment growth
renovations targeting schools with the lowest ratings on the district’s facility condition index
technology infrastructure upgrades: replacing server and storage systems and increasing bandwidth

Participants of the Telephone Town Hall event will have an opportunity to ask questions, share comments, vote in polls on their touchtone phones or just listen in to the meeting, hosted by Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Mike Barry, with guests Superintendent Jennifer Cheatham and Chief of School Operations Mike Hertting.

To join the meeting: When you receive a call from 608-442-2848, just stay on the line to be automatically connected. Or, simply join the meeting by dialing toll-free 888-409-5380.

Those who can’t attend the meeting are invited to visit www.mmsd.org/referendum to learn more. Don’t forget to vote on April 7th!

Made possible by a generous donation from the Madison Community Foundation
