Home has had new roof shingles and exterior paint applied, however, home is in poor condition with a leaking basement and windows, rotted siding and side walls and many structural issues related to a home of this age. Home is past it’s useful life. Existing garage to remain. Owner desires to build a new home on lot which will provide a new residence for another 75 + years.

Applicant’s Comments:
The former 17,000 square foot Badger School has been marketed for approximately two years. Objections of potential buyers include the condition of the building, especially the roof, heating system and the presence of asbestos.Other comments indicate the position of the building on the lot make it unattractive to adaptive reuse. The zoning is R3, which also restricts the use and the building does not comply with the zoning unless used for a school, church or similar community building.
