Public Meeting Invitation – Meeting Reminder

What: South Capitol TOD (SCTOD) District Planning Study Public Meeting
Where: Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center
When: 6:00 – 8:30, Thursday, June 13th

Please join us at the first public meeting of the SCTOD Planning Study. The SCTOD planning district stretches from Bedford Street to Blair Street and includes the area between Wilson Street and Lake Monona. The purpose of the planning study is to identify transportation improvement projects and further define opportunities for development consistent with the Downtown Plan with easy access to a variety of transportation modes.

The SCTOD Planning Study will include:

*         Exploring options for a pedestrian/bike bridge across John Nolen Drive and better connecting the Downtown to Lake Monona

*         Considering converting Wilson Street into a two-way street

*         Identifying potential streetscape improvements and redevelopment opportunities along Wilson Street

*         Exploring site options for a transit center for intercity buses and possibilities for adjacent or on-site development

*         Identifying Capital City Trail enhancements that address the needs of both pedestrians and bicyclists

*         Analyzing improvements to three key intersections including North Shore Drive and John Nolen Drive, Broom Street and John Nolen Drive, John Nolen Drive/Blair Street and Wilson Street/Williamson Street

Please take this opportunity to share your opinions and perspectives on the SCTOD.  Please forward this email on to your neighbors-the more input we receive, the better the study will be! Doors will open at 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 13th. A short presentation on the project will begin at 6:30 pm followed by exercises intended to solicit your thoughts and input.
