While running for elected office can be very confusing, sometimes needlessly so. There are also few people outside of the far right wing, who do not think that money in politics is out of control. That being said, there are a couple of incidences on the Wayne Strong campaign that need to be looked at.
The first is money. Mr. Strong had $8241.56 last year and this year shows $37.60, with nowhere showing where that money went. I am sure its a simple oversight(as I said these things are needlessly complicated) and easily fixed, when we get an explanation, we will pass it along.
The second, is one that we see all too often and one that I have never understood. Claims of endorsements that are not endorsements. For one, endorsements are nice, but I have never voted for someone based on an endorsement. Secondly when you claim an endorsement that was not there it just brings scrutiny to your campaign and makes me question what else I should be leery of.
In this campaign, it appears that Mr. Strong has claimed that he has received the endorsement of Progressive Dane but my sources tell me that there was no such endorsement. I get that candidates running in Madison, would like to be associated with Progressive Dane but I think its very important to be clear and honest on who endorses you and who does not endorse you!
This misunderstanding should also be cleared up!
Full disclosure, I personally support Michael Flores for School Board but I respect Mr. Strong as he appears to also be a very good candidate.
Endorsing for any product it is understood that proper methods and precise scrutinizing are must to make it expose in the market.
