Northside Dinner

Please join your Northside neighbors for a Community Supper this Sunday, March 29th from 4 to 6 pm at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center. Northside Sunday Suppers are starting their fourth year of providing a free comfort food dinner for Northsiders in months with five Sundays. Come share a meal, catch up with people you know and meet some new people. . There is also an open gym for kids of all ages.

This Supper has a couple of special things planned.

Adding to homemade Irish Stew on the menu are homemade apple and peach pies that are being made this Saturday at FEED Kitchens by a Community GroundWorks volunteer crew.
In partnership with Northside United and the Year of Equity, we will also take the opportunity to celebrate life and affirm that all lives in our community matter. There will be musical and spoken word performances from East High School and we will also collect messages of support for our sister Marquette Neighborhood, the Madison Police Department, and the family and friends of Tony Robinson.

Volunteers are needed to help with food prep at 12 noon and then to serve, help out in the open gym, and the always popular kitchen clean-up! Feel free to promote the supper and we hope to see you on Sunday. Email director@northsideplanningcouncil.org if you can help.

Guest Sponsor – Northside United
Core Sponsors – Boomerang’s, Madison School Community Recreation, Northside Farmer’s Market, Northside Planning Council, and the Warner Park Community Recreation Center.

Atwood Tool Library

I am excited to announce that the Atwood Tool Library’s Grand Opening is May 2 from 10 am until 2 pm at 2165 Linden Ave. Our theme for the Grand Opening is “Gardening.” We will have a lot of great activities, demonstrations and the like happening that day, so check out our Facebook page for updates.

We are currently opening up the tool library on Saturdays from 10 am until 2 pm leading up to May 2 to work out all of the kinks and have members test out our tools before the big day. Stop on by to check out the space, and sign up for a membership so you can start checking out tools right away. Please bring a form of ID, verification of residency in our coverage area, and $20 cash or check for your yearly membership. We are also offering lifetime memberships for $200.

The tool library will be closed April 4.

Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this project possible!
