Quick Round Up

There will be a complete capital budget rundown tomorrow. Meanwhile, here’s a few tidbits to chew on . . . Badger Herald fact check, neighborhood meeting on Peace Park, Mayor holds his ground (but for what?) and pictures and info on the Lamp House.

BADGER HERALD FACT CHECK
I just hate it when the Badger Herald gets things wrong. Here they note that the Student Tenant Resource Center has not received SSFC funding before. Uh . . . it has since the mid-90s in various forms. Without Critical Badger around to correct them, I may just have to from time to time . . . when I happen across something. This funding no longer goes to the Tenant Resource Center because we are not 100% student run, but the funding is still critical to helping the many students in Madison understand their rights.

NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING ON PEACE PARK
On Tuesday, September 29, Alder Mike Verveer will sponsor a neighborhood meeting to review the proposed redevelopment of Lisa Link Peace Park.

DATE: Tuesday, September 29
TIME: 7:00pm
WHERE: Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel, 220 W. Gilman

For more information on the plans, see here.

Joe Tarr does a good job of presenting some interesting issues about the ATM and panhandling.

IT’S OK TO SAY YOU’RE WRONG
Forward our Motto makes some interesting observations about the Mayor’s unwavering support for the Edgewater project, whatever that might end up being . . . to hell with the “but for” test, I guess. He also throws in a great comment about the blog . . .

LAMP HOUSE
Here’s some resources for those interested in the Lamp House on the 200 block of E Mifflin in addition to yesterday’s blog and the steering committee blog.
