Pssst . . . Mayor Dave . . .

Please take me off your campaign list.

Look, I made a huge mistake supporting you in 2003, didn’t even think about it in 2007 . . . and there is no way I’m supporting you now . . . I’m going to have to write in someone’s name . . . and I’m definitely not doing what you’re asking me . . .

Dear Brenda,

Today will be here soon, which means it’s time to gather nomination signatures to get on the Spring Election ballot. Your signature will make sure I can be listed as a candidate, but even more than that, your support means a great deal to me.

But, beyond the minor data error, here’s a question . . . It’s December 17th, and you’re first thinking about gathering nomination papers? Really?

I’m guessing not, its just a campaign tactic to figure out who his supporters are . . . and I’m guessing that list is a lot shorter than it has been in years past. I’ve been talking to many former supporters recently who won’t give money and are very disappointed in him. So, why no credible candidates?

  1. Brenda, I’m guessing the people you talk to aren’t indicative of the Madison electorate as a whole. Some of his former supporters have become his opponents, but some of his former opponents have now become his allies (Ray Allen).

  2. I talk to a wide variety of people. The latest was an AVID Dave supporter, a supporter of me and now of Bridget (Yeah, figure that all out) But I’d agree, lefties and dems I talk to are less enthralled with Mayor D and Republicans are more so. Problems for Dave is, there’s more Dems than Republicans . . . and most of the business supporters live elsewhere (i.e. not Madison)
