Property Tax Exemption Tonight At Council!

So, the once meaningful resolution has become a feel good resolution, with major modifications that change its intent.

1. Originally, the resolution directed the city lobbyists to take the council’s position, not act at the direction of the Mayor.

2. The “tweaked” language has been removed.

3. A report from the Mayor’s office is different than a report from the paid professional lobbyists.

4. The last “whereas” clause should be a “resolved” clause so it is a directed action by the council, as the city attorney seems to have declared their previous motion invalid and may try to rule that the matter cannot come back before the council.
