Progressive Dane, Not Dead Yet.

Not taking over the world either. Just doing what we do.

Progressive Dane announces endorsed candidates for 2011 spring elections.

(Madison) Wednesday, January 26th 2011, the General Membership of Progressive Dane (PD) met to deliberate the recommendations of the Progressive Dane Elections Committee (PDEC) regarding candidates the PDEC interviewed who sought the endorsement of Progressive Dane in this spring’s municipal elections. The General Membership assembled voted to follow the recommendations of the PDEC and endorses these candidates:

Marj Passman, Madison Board of Education

Dorothy Krause, Fitchburg Common Council, District 1, Seat 1

Sam Stevenson, Madison Common Council, District 2

Mike Verveer, Madison Common Council, District 4

Marsha Rummel, Madison Common Council, District 6

Kyle Szarzynski, Madison Common Council, District 8

Brian Solomon, Madison Common Council, District 10

Satya Rhodes-Conway, Madison Common Council, District 12

TJ Mertz, Madison Common Council, District 13

These candidates represent well the platforms of Progressive Dane and, if elected, will serve their districts and the broader community with dedication.

I should note, in case you are wondering. I’m on Progressive Dane’s Steering Committee, but I did not take part in last night’s endorsement meetings or the elections committee endorsement meetings. While you know what kind of candidates I support, I felt to maintain some distance was important because of the blog, WYOU and WORT.
