Police Policy Review Committee

What is going on . . . it’s been months, and month, and months and nothing seems to be happening . . .

Remember this resolution that was passed last May? After 7 different versions?

It took the mayor until 9/1/2015 to make appointments.

And no one has bothered to schedule a committee meeting yet. Well, not until November 18th. 6 months later . . .

Just wanted to inform you that the Wisconsin State Journal will be doing a story on the upcoming MPD Policy Review Committee. They have been provided with the resolution and said they were contacting committee members. Committee members attended training last night on open meetings and public records and on November 18th committee members will attend another training on Roberts rules and code of ethics. After this training from 7-7:30 will be their first official meeting where President Demarb and Alder Bidar-Sielaff will review the resolution with the committee.

We are currently working on the RFP for the expert with staff and hope to have that finalized the next couple of weeks and depending on the applications we receive we hope to have someone begin their work in December.

We will keep you updated on the committee’s work. Please contact me if you have any questions.
