People Work, Mayor Holds Press Conference About their Work?

Sometimes, this mayor is just a little too much. The mayor’s holding a press conference today during the time the committees doing the work to be talked about in the press conference will be meeting and doing that work.

Mayor Soglin Press Conference to Discuss Homeless Veterans’ Housing

Date: Monday, January 30, 2017
Time: 2:00 p.m.
Location: Mayor’s Conference Room, Room 403
City County Building
210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

In 2015, the City signed on to the Mayor’s Challenge and Zero Initiative, a campaign to end Veterans’ homelessness. Mayor Soglin, a representative from the Veterans Administration and City of Madison staff will review the City’s efforts on this initiative on Monday.

Meanwhile . . .the group that has been housing the veterans, the Housing Placement Group, that meets twice a month, will be meeting 1 – 3 today. And the group that has been overseeing that work, the Coordinated Entry Committee will be meeting at 2:30 today.

Another example of how we can’t work together. Even on simple things. The Homeless Services Consortium already double-booked ourselves and probably failed to communicate that to those who needed to know it – but now we’re triple booked. Sigh . . .
