City of Madison Public Records Training Seminar
Date: January 30, 2014
Time: 2:00-4:30 p.m.
Place: Room 301, Madison Central Library, 201 West Mifflin

The City of Madison will be presenting the training seminar for local news reporters, editors and
bloggers. The program will include an overview of the City’s public records program and will address the practical aspects of making public records requests and the legal challenges/ actions that reporters can pursue when they receive an inadequate response to a request.

In addition to Mayor Paul Soglin and Assistant City Attorney Roger Allen, local attorney Bob Dreps and Bill Lueders of The Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism will be presenting and available for questions.

I didn’t actually receive the above notice from the mayor’s office in any official capacity – and alder just passed it along to me. Perhaps they figured I didn’t need the training? Doesn’t matter, I’m going anyways! Glad they are doing this, I can always learn more!
