Non-Edgewater Round Up

Silly, but the Edgwater eclipses so many other things at times, this is one of them, so I separated it out, here’s the rest of what you need to know about what is going on in the area.

POLICE CLOSE ROAD
I wonder what authority they have to do that? I think its the 900 pound gorilla authority, but I’m not sure.

COPS POSE AS PANHANDLERS
Hmmmm . . . all that extra time on their hands. And, if its so dangerous why are they doing it themselves?

OK, SO HOW WILL THAT DOWNTOWN TRAIN STATION WORK?
Eh, who knows.

MADISON SCHOOLS EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY
Text message alerts for parents! Awesome.

SMALL NON-PROFITS COULD LOSE THEIR TAX EXEMPT STATUS
Small community groups could lose their tax exempt status if they do not act by Monday!

IMMIGRATION TASK FORCE BLOW-OUT
Pat Schneider asked yesterday if the Sheriff’s police on ICE should be ICED? Apparently, based on the over three hours of testimony, overwhelmingly against the sheriff’s policy, the answer is yes. Only 4 intolerant old white guys showed up to testify in support of the sheriff, one of them being Blaska. Emily Mills was there ferociously taking notes, I didn’t get there til the last 45 minutes, so hopefully she’ll have a post today.

WOW, WHAT IS THIS?
The State Journal takes it (conservative) media activism to a whole new level?

ANOTHER FAILED APEX PROJECT
Wow, these guys just can’t get anything started. No hotel, soundly shot down on Merry St., and no movement on projects like the one by the Lamp House. This time, its a project on University Avenue.

A little short today . . . but I don’t have much else.
