New Overture Center Director

Here’s the hype.

Later today, we will announce performing arts veteran Ted DeDee as our new President and CEO. Ted comes to us from from New Albany, Ohio, near Columbus, where he oversaw the building and opening of the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts, which opened in 2008. Prior to that, he oversaw the design, building and opening of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tenn. He has managed a number of performing arts facilities in Tennesee, Dallas and New York State in a career that spans nearly 35 years.

Learn more about Ted on our website, here

Ted will be in Madison tomorrow to meet the staff and others. He will introduce himself to the entire community at a press conference at 1 pm at Overture Center. I know it’s short notice, but you’re welcome to come and meet him at that time.

Ted will begin his duties officially on April 2. Our current CEO, Tom Carto, has generously agreed to remain interim CEO until then, and to work with Ted to ensure a smooth transition.

We are successfully navigating the transition to management by an independent nonprofit organization; we’ve already set a single-season fundraising record, just halfway through the fiscal year; ticket sales are stronger than ever; and we keep adding and expanding programs to engage our community. With Ted taking over the helm, all the pieces are falling into place for an exciting future.

If you’re not able to come and meet Ted tomorrow, please know that he will be very available in the coming weeks and months. Please don’t hesitate to call if you have any, questions!

All the best,

Jacquie Goetz
