Multi-Media Brenda

Blogging, TV show and now . . . Radio. But you know, its not about me, its about educating the public about what is going on in local government. So, let me know if there are things you want to hear about! I’m doing my best impression of a one-woman media wrecking machine. 🙂 Better yet tho, join me here on the blog (submit a guest blog or join us more permanently) or on radio and tv to talk about issues that are important to you!

BLOG
My blog is nearing 5 years and tho it has been through changes, becomes more and more read every day. Thank you so much for all the positive feedback and continuing to read through all the changes!

TELEVISON
I also started a TV show in May . . . so far I’ve done shows as follows:
– School Board President Arlene Silveira (budget), Alders Mike Verveer & Marsha Rummel (Library and Edgewater) and County Board Chair Scott McDonell (County Board issues and budget).
– Housing and Homelessness
– Transit with former Alder Webber
– Edgewater
– Immigration with Alder Bidar Sielaff and Ramona Natera
– Talking Taxes with County Board Supervisor Carousel Bayrd (Quarterly Tax payments) and Lucy Mathiak (TIF and Edgewater and School Budget)

Past shows can be viewed here.

June was rough with personal plans and obligations and I did shows on the SJC Mural Dedication and discussion with the artist and discussion of Art in the 70s and some interesting history on Willy St.

And the SJC Awards to Helen Vuchelich (Legacy Award) and Cynthia Lin (Visionary Award) along with the Raging Grannies. You should check it out, the award winners have powerful things to say and the Raging Grannies to it up right in honor of Nan Cheney.

(Be kind, those were my first two editing projects and I didn’t have enough time to perfect them.)

Coming up (back on a weekly schedule):
– Bill White and Susan Schmidt talk “Broken” Development Process
– What is the city doing on housing now that IZ is gone? (Brian Munson Housing Diversity Chair and School Board Member Marj Passman)
– Kathleen Falk
– Overture (Mike Verveer and Dana Chabot)
– Landmarks Ordinance
– Neighborhoods response to “Broken” Development process

Shows can be seen on thissideoftown.blip.tv or on channels 991 or 95 at 5:00pm on Monday or 6am on Tuesday. Possible more times coming up?

AND NOW, RADIO
That’s right, I’ll be hosting A Public Affair on WORT every other Tuesday. My first shows will be (not every other Tuesday) August 3rd and 24th, then I should get on schedule for every other week. On July 27th I will likely co-host with Stacy Harbaugh on her last show. So, I’m going to try this for a year and see how it goes. I’ll let you know where to find the podcasts, when I figure out where they will be. My focus will be local issues of the City Council, County Board and Madison School District.
