Madison Police: SWAT Team to Get Body Cameras?!

What? Public Hearing 5:00 on Wednesday. Didn’t we have a city committee that decided that we didn’t want them? Isn’t Koval against them? I’m so confused.

So, here’s the notice. I’ve never been to these meeting, I asked about them once and Chief Wray sort of had a fit (I don’t know why, I guess in his opinion I was nosing around in things that didn’t concern me.) . . . this is where they authorize getting their toys. On this agenda, infared scopes and body cameras!!! Instead, they could be getting nasal narcan and putting money into the opiate epidemic, or paying for methodone or soboxone for people in jail (currently not allowed since its a “maintenance” drug) – just a thought that you might want to email to tgenin@cityofmadison.com.
