At the press conference on Friday, School Board President Gloria Reyes said they still plan to meet on Monday because they have important things to do, but I don’t see it on the legal notice.

Tuesday, March 17

6:00 p.m. MMSD Board of Education Candidate Forum sponsored by The Cap Times East High School 2222 East Washington Avenue Madison, WI 53704 Theatre

It is expected that the members of the MMSD Board of Education, up to or exceeding a majority of the full membership of the Board, may attend some of this event, however, the Board will neither discuss nor take any action with respect to any school district business as part of attending any of the events associated with this event.

While the forum is open to the public, we are discouraging people other than the candidates from attending in person in order to limit the potential spread of coronavirus. We will write about the discussion and also make a full recording of it available online.

    • Request from safety patrol for funding totaling $757.97, remaining balance to send 6 Safety Patrol Leaders to represent Nuestro Mundo in the Washington, D.C. trip from April 29 to May 3 in which they will be joining other student leaders from the state of Wisconsin. NMCS has funding to cover the cost for 4 students. They are requesting funding for the remaining 2 students.
    • Big Share: 44 donors contributed $3,542.48, which minus fees will yield $3,460.22 in revenue

      • i) Would NMI want to hold year-long Spanish classes or just join Literacy Network for spring semester?
      • ii) Would NMI support paying for child care year-long for either English class only or English/Spanish if both classes are held year- long (Literacy Network doesn’t provide child care)?
      • iii) NMI—Itwouldbegreattouseyourcontacts to ask for sponsorships for Pounce and Bounce. Please share the video (in FSA report) and sponsorship flyer with your networks. Also, NMI members save the date to volunteer at the event.
      • iv) Playgroundteamhopingtohearbackfrom NMI regarding any additional dollars or decision from Monona Grove. Or if NMI needs to wait until after this year’s fundraising efforts?
