a) Vote to protect the sustainability of the Family and Staff Assistance Fund:
i. to maintain NMI’s ability to support vulnerable families during the COVID-19 crisis through the emergency Family & Staff Assistance Fund, the NMI Board of Directors hereby approves the following strategies in order:
1. Any expenditures from the Family & Staff Assistance Fund will first be supported by any monies donated specifically to the Family & Staff Assistance Fund.
2. When and if the Fund expenditures start to outpace the Fund balance, additional fund-raising appeals will be made, within reason, to refresh the Fund balance.
3. When and if the Fund balance is exhausted, and in the face of continuing need, the projected FY20 budget surplus of up to $1,000 will be designated to refresh the Fund balance.
4. When and if the Fund balance is exhausted after applying the projected surplus, and in the face of continuing need, the Board hereby approves an action to draw down 5% of the current balance of NMI’s “Big Ideas” savings account to refresh the Fund balance as needed to continue to support vulnerable families.
ws5. Every three months at minimum, the Board will reassess these strategies.
