DISTURBING TRENDS

CLOSED SESSION MEETINGS

So afar this year the Madison School Board has held the following meetings in closed session in 2020:

  • January 13
  • January 14
  • January 15
  • January 16
  • January 17
  • January 27
  • Feburary 10
  • February 21

NO PUBLIC COMMENT ALLOWED

These are the meetings they have held in open session in 2020:

  • January 11  – Retreat (no public input on agenda)
  • January 27 – Public appearances allowed
  • February 3 – No public appearances on the agenda (voted on contract)
  • February 24 – Public appearances allowed

If you are keeping track, public comment was allowed at 2 of the 12 meetings.

Oddly the agenda says that there is public input at all regular and special meetings.

Also, there is a new trend developing – they have amended their weekly legal notice as follows:

  • 6 times January – October 2019
  • 1 time in November
  • 2 times in December
  • 2 times in January
  • 4 times in February

6:30 p.m. MMSD Referendum Sustainability Session La Follette High School 702 Pflaum Road Madison, WI 53716 Room C17

  • It is expected that the members of the MMSD Board of Education, up to or exceeding a majority of the full membership of the Board, may attend some of this event, however, the Board will neither discuss nor take any action with respect to any school district business as part of attending any of the events associated with this event.
