Irony Alert, Addition of City Meetings

Sigh . . . equity . . .

A committee most people don’t know about, but was touted as a success in the Equity report, which recommends better access to City Hall turns in it’s agenda late all the time and meets in the middle of the day. Bright spot indeed!

The reason given for the closed session is: pursuant to Section 19.85(1)(d), Wisconsin Statutes, which includes:
Considering strategy for crime detection or prevention. Additionally, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes section 19.85(1)(f) which includes: Considering social or personal histories or disciplinary data of specific persons, the investigation of charges against specific persons except where par. (b) applies which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations. If the Allied Area Task Force does convene in closed session as described above, upon completion of the closed session, notice is hereby given that it may reconvene in open session to consider the following items without waiting 12 hours, pursuant to Wis. Stats. Sec.19.85(2).

This feels kinda creepy to me, I’ve never seen a closed session for these reasons. It’s not like this committee can do anything, sounds like a way to start the rumor mill flying! And creepy, but I think I said that.
