Input On Judge Doyle Square?

Not much notice or publicity, but you might want to go to night – I’m sure the lobbyists will be there in full force. I will be at another meeting – this is the same time as the Homeless Issues Committee, the Personnel and Finance Committee for the county where they are voting on amendments and the Occupy Madison board meeting. Boo.

The City of Madison has requested proposals to undertake a significant mixed use development comprised of commercial, hotel, residential, retail and restaurant uses combined with bicycle and public parking facilities on a prominent two-block site in the heart of the City’s central business district between the Capitol Square and the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. Known as Judge Doyle Square, the site includes the Madison Municipal Building block and the City-owned Government East parking facility, which will be replaced as part of the project.

The Judge Doyle Square Committee, a citizen committee created by the City Council to oversee the development process, is reviewing the two proposals received to develop the project. Public comments on the Judge Doyle Square project are invited at the committee meeting on November 11, 2013. Background information on the project and detailed information on the proposals are available at http://www.cityofmadison.com/planning/judgedoylesquare/.
