HUD Budget Hearing on Sunday!

Come find out how it impacts us locally and what you can do! Congressman Mark Pocan’s staff will be there to listen to our concerns.
Sunday, July 23
2:00pm to 4:00pm
Madison Labor Temple
1602 S. Park Street

Did you know the Housing Wage in Dane County is $18.54? That means a minimum wage worker in our community needs to work 106 hours per week in order to afford a two-bedroom apartment at Fair Market Rent.

Despite the terrible shortage of affordable homes for low income families, President Trump and Congress are slashing the HUD budget. Join us on Sunday to learn more about the proposed cuts, share your story on the importance of federal funding for housing, and to learn more about how you can be involved.

Lift up your voice and protect our Homes and Communities. This Madison event is part of the Our Homes, Our Voices National Housing Week of Action. Speakers include Joe Lindstrom from the National Low Income Housing Coalition who will inform us on the damage the budget is projected to do to low income households. Rob Dicke from the Dane County Housing Authority will speak to what the cuts will do locally to those who depend on that money for their housing. Dane County Supervisor Heidi Wegleither and City Aldersperson Mo Cheeks will discuss how it will impact local city and county budgets. Staff from Madison’s representatives in Congress will be there to observe.
