Half Done Round Up

I’ve felt behind all week, and still am! Hopefully I can stay more current starting next week!

DON’T READ THIS
Go read my other post from this morning, it is much more important than anything in this round up . . . its kind of stunning and sad. Stuart Levitan really shines in this meeting. A HUGE thank you to him.

BUS DRIVER SAFETY ISSUES
Sorry, I’m sending you to the Cap Times to find out about the Channel 3 follow up story, because it has other useful links. I think its an important issue to think about.

SALT WARS
With surrounding municipalities and ourselves, depending upon the season. Let’s try to get this right, people!

AND TICKETED AND TOWED THEY DID!
I don’t know where the Badger Herald got 163, this is the official word from George Dreckman who says it was poorly worded but these were the towed people:

We handed out 255 last night and 186 the night before. last night’s emergency should not have been a surprise as snow emergencies always go two nights.

See what I mean about the attitude. I’d rather hear, we’re going to work even harder to get the word out . . .and he doesn’t seem to understand that because the snow took so long to fall, some might have thought that it was the 9th and 10th instead of 1oth and 1ath. Especially those who are spending their first winter in Madison. We need more outreach on this issue instead of spending advertising money on pet projects. Also, looking around my neighborhood, and I hate to even say this, but it seems like they towed on the streets that had the most parked cars instead of on which streets needed it most.

WOW, NICE SPIN
I hadn’t seen this earlier. I guess Schumacher didn’t get the talking points from the Chamber about how the UDC shouldn’t be deciding something outside of their scope. And, he likely doesn’t realize that they thought they were doing the Plan Commission and the Edgewater a favor by giving them extra time to consider the issue . . . I guess no good deed goes unpunished. I’d like to hear Dick Wagner’s (he made the motion) response to Schumacher.

LET’S GET ONE OF THESE
