Greyhound to use Popeye’s Building at Woodman’s East

Because people who should know seemed surprised . . . meeting tonight!

Greyhound Inter-city Bus Depot @ Woodman’s (Popeye’s Chicken)
Eastmorland Neighborhood Association Meeting
Lakeview Moravian Church – Tulane Avenue
Tuesday September 8 7:00pm

When the owners of the Badger Bus Depot on West Washington Avenue proposed to re-develop the site, Greyhound Bus lost a home. After a multi-site search throughout the city, Greyhound thought the former Popeye’s Chicken building in the Woodman’s parking lot would be the best interim (less than five years) location for providing inter-city bus services between Milwaukee and Minneapolis.

Unfortunately this is a “fast track” proposal because of the timeline for finding an alternate site. Greyhound felt that the location near Stoughton Road and the East transfer point was ideal. Ultimately they would like to connect with a inter-city train station for their approximately twelve daily scheduled bus trips. They also would need only half of the building and would hope that another restaurant would fill the other part of the building.

You are invited to the Eastmorland Community Association (ECA) regular monthly neighborhood meeting where Greyhound will present their conceptual plan for the site. We are still in the “discovery” phase, so please come prepared to ask questions.
