Expect 2 or 3 versions of the honoring resolution too . . .

NOTE: The mayor has requested this be “place on file” . . . i.e. the circular file . . .

Who gets the credit for peaceful protests? Anyone but YGB and the Tony Robinson Family? Anyone who has done public speakings knows that when you start listing people, you’re bound to forget someone, in this case at least part of it was on purpose.

The original resolution thanked the following people:
Black Leadership Council
African American Council of Churches
NAACP/United Way Law Enforcement and communities of color collaboration
Urban League of Greater Madison
Centro Hispano of Dane County
Literacy Network
Mothers United
UW Black and Latino Law Student Association
Davis Group

4 alders have taken their names off at this point: Marsha Rummel, Rebecca Kemble, Barbara McKinney and Shiva Bidar

Amended suggested version included:
Black Leadership Council
African American Council of Churches
NAACP/United Way Law Enforcement and communities of color collaboration
Urban League of Greater Madison
Centro Hispano of Dane County
Literacy Network
Mothers United
UW Black and Latino Law Student Association
Davis Group
Madison Urban Ministry
Young Gifted and Black Coalition
YWCA
Community Resource Team
National Lawyers Guild
Progressive Dane
WilMar Neighborhood Center
Northside United
Communities United
ACLU
Wisconsin Council on Children and Families

But this list left out they family . . . sigh . . . and Progressive Dane? Not the Social Justice Center? Tenant Resource Center? Odd list.

Expect a new list or a completely new version that leaves out the list.
