Dane County Executive poll

The Spring Primary is less than a week away. With the questions surrounding the poll released by Joe Parisi\’s campaign, I thought I would take a “scientific” poll.

I personally am supporting Scott Mcdonell for Dane County Executive. I think he best understands the term “the commons’ and is not scared to stand up to the right wing ideologues in Dane County who want to take “the county back(to the 1800’s).

How about you? who are you supporting and why?

  1. I am supporting Zach Brandon at least in the primary. Here is why.

If Bruskewitz gets through the primary, the general election is essentially over. She is going to lose by at least 25 percentage points unless McDonell, Wineke or Parisi has a double-epic collapse. Even if one of the three has just a regular epic collapse, she still loses by 10 points.

If it’s two of the liberals winning the primary, then it’s going to be a really obnoxious “style over substance” election, and we already have enough of that with Soglin-Cieslewicz.

I used to like Joe Wineke, but lately he’s been acting more like a crony politics type guy–think AT&T cable deregulation bill, and the Tavern League endorsement doesn’t impress me either.

So I am rooting for a Brandon-Parisi matchup. It will be a vigorous debate on the issues, with two positive visions for the county. Brandon and Parisi both have indicated that they will stand up to Walker when necessary but they also want to work together with him when they can. McDonell is my third choice but he is independent enough from partisan politics that he would also be a good choice for the county.

So basically anyone but Bruskewitz and Wineke, is who I’m rooting for at this point.
