Ooops, good to know your district before you run . . . First Settlement is also in the 6th district . . . which has already been noted on at least one of the neighborhood listserves. Here’s the announcement. Expect to see papers filed today.

Twink Jan-McMahon, Organizer, Sustainable Atwood, is joining the race for City Council, Alder of District 6. Twink’s priorities are to engage neighborhood leaders and boldly support sustainability. She says, “I love Madison. The best way I can contribute to the city is to pay attention and work hard with the people of my district for its social, economic and ecological stability.”
Nomination papers will be submitted Monday, January 3, 2011.

It would have also been worthwhile to see why she thinks that she would be a better representative than Marsha. I’m all up for the debate, but exactly what are her reasons to replace someone with a couple terms of experience and a 30 history of the same level of community activism that Twink champions?
