Are you kidding….follow up

I wanted to follow up to this post. Where some anti-education individuals from Cottage Grove complained that a note was sent home publicizing an all inclusive community wide meeting on how to best improve our education. After an open records request, I found out that there were two complaints. One by phone who did not have the courage to put anything in writing, and one by local bitter propagandist Rick Kerr. Here is the email that he sent to the Monona Grove School Board(my comments in italics).

Hello,
So the MGSD parents’ e-mail list was used to send out notice of this WEAC sponsored meeting at the high school and a flyer about the meeting was sent home with our children.(Of course like many things that rick complains about the truth does not matter when you can rant. It was not a WEAC sponsored meeting)

After the dastardly deed was done you send out another email apologizing for the “error in oversight.” (dastardly deed really? let’s talk dastardly deeds shall we Mr. Kerr?)

Who approved the original e-mail? (Who should approve all communications? you Mr. Kerr? Scott Walker? Mike Huebsch?)

Who approved the flyer going home with the children? (are you being redundant here or do you really feel that you should approve all emails?)

Who paid for the paper and copying of the flyer? (the teachers by cutting their salary)

What punishment has been meted out to the offender? (less than the punishment that was meted out last year when the MGSDcommunity email went out to the community on school funded paper and copying despite the fact that they were an anonymous political hatchet group who used the schools money and distribution system to attack some candidates and prop up others. Or the same punishment that was (theoretically) meted out to a father of the PTO president who used the PTO mailing list as a personal mailing list group to send out political propaganda(allegedly). Just sayin!)

What is the point of a written policy against this kind thing when it can happen anyway?

Rick Kerr

Here are some more suggestions for you to write letters about. Book order forms: clear agenda to make the kids read. School lunch menus: clear agenda to make the kids eat a healthy lunch, daily Math facts: clear agenda by the teachers union to teach our kids math.

My sources were able to catch a picture of Mr. Kerr shortly after he wrote the above email.
