4 days and counting . . . Round Up!

Ok, one more day, and it will be a whole week and I’ll be back! I hope! So much going on, so little time.

WHY THE CONTROVERSY
Um, why can’t the new organization just change their name? It is confusing, in fact, I wouldn’t remember which was which. But both are providing needed services.

BLASKA DISTANCES HIMSELF FROM BRANDON
Or, tries. His glowing comments about Brandon are contrary to his claims.

NICHOLS HIGHLIGHTS BRANDON’S BIPARTISAN SUPPORTERS
All I have to say it Vicky Selkowe may be the only big “P” Progressive supporting Brandon. Anyone who has progressive values and remembers Brandon’s stint on the council, wouldn’t think of supporting him. See comment/link above. He’s a nice guy, but Selkowe is blinded by her personal friendship with him. My guess is, she stands pretty much alone as a Progressive.

comments weeks ago. Verveer asked several times if they wanted any changes made as a result of her comments, and no response each time.

PLEASE DONATE TO WYOU
Thanks to deregulation and the City screwing WYOU, things are difficult at WYOU. They/we used to get $140,000 from PEG fees, fees you pay on your cable bill, to ensure there is community and government acess to the airwaves. We should have gotten that same amount in 2010, but the Mayor cut the budget in half and kept the money. So we only got $70,000, and despite what he and others hoped would happen, we’re still here! And not going away! But, in 2011, we get $0. Nothing. A pitch to alders was made to just give us a portion of the $70K we should have gotten this year, just $25K in 2011, but no one would even introduce the motion. So, we need YOU to donate to help keep us going! This is serious. Please donate today. Please.

WHY YOU SHOULD SHOP YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES
We don’t want to see any more emails like this:

I stopped by Bob’s Rod & Reel on Winnebago Street today. Business has been very slow – enough that the furnace was off. If you need fishing gear or to have your fishing reel cleaned and relubed for the spring, now would be a good time.
