Brett Hulsey, the Democratic assemblyperson for District 78 has come under some rather ridiculous attacks lately (Here’s one example). Yes, Mr. Hulsey has behaved in a bizarre fashion on more than one occasion. However, that’s not necessarily a good reason to hope that Mr. Hulsey’s time in the state assembly comes to an end in 2014.
On the other hand, things like this…From one of Mr. Hulsey’s colleagues on the Dane County Board:
when id caucus with @BrettHulseyWI he would consistently make arguments that were to the right of most of the republicans.

Or from the Capital Times editorial page: Time for a Brett Hulsey rethink
Brett Hulsey says he is thinking of running for governor.
Brett Hulsey says he is thinking of quitting the Democratic Party and serving out his current legislative term as an independent.
Brett Hulsey says he bought a red convertible with campaign funds so he can better appear in parades.
Brett Hulsey is making a lot of news these days.
But it all seems to be about Brett Hulsey, not the issues that once motivated the former Dane County supervisor and current state representative from Madison’s west side.
The near-west side of Madison has plenty of qualified women and men who would do a far superior job advocating for progressive causes without creating a spectacle of themselves than the incumbent. I hope some of them step up.
