Negotiate What?

Look, it’s good to work with people of all different ideological stripes…but at some point you have to stand up for what you believe in and win elections.

I would like to draw your attention to this bit of polling from Public Policy Polling (emphasis mine)

-59% of Wisconsin voters would be perfectly happy to pay 14 cents extra for a Papa John’s pizza so that its employees can have health insurance to only 22% who say they would not be willing to. Republicans though by a 39/37 margin say they’re not paying that extra 14 cents.

14 cents a pizza to help someone have a better quality of life and that’s too much? That’s almost nothing! There’s nothing to talk about…do we want America to be ruled by people who wouldn’t even pay 14 extra cents a pizza to help fellow human beings get something as basic as healthcare. Take a look at the Republican parties around the nation, the 39% is ascendant.

This is what is at stake. Progressives have got to be in every election, from city councils to the US Senate.
