The Overpass Light Brigade made a cool video:
The blog Pruning Shears also has a great summary: Palermo’s Pizza Workers Strike in Milwaukee
The Palermo’s Workers Union is an independent union affiliated with Voces de la Frontera, an immigrant rights center in Milwaukee. Palermo’s refuses to recognize the union although 80% of the workers have signed a petition. The National Labor Relations Board has scheduled an election on July 6.
Oh and as always, here is how you can help:
To support the striking Palermo’s workers, you can donate to the strike fund to help make up for lost income and keep the strike going. You can send food, water, and supplies, and join the picket line if you’re able. You can refuse to buy Palermo’s products and pressure your local grocery store to do the same.
Palermo’s Pizza is located at 3301 W. Canal St. in Milwaukee, WI. The picket goes from 8am to 5pm Monday through Saturday. Contact Voces de la Frontera (www.vdlf.org) for more information.
